Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Night Shift in the Emergency Room, 7pm–7:30am, 36 hours per week, with every 3rd weekend and holiday. Immediate eligibility for a $6,000 sign-on bonus for external new hires.

Utilize the nursing process from admission to discharge, perform assessments, coordinate care, administer medications, and collaborate with the care team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.
• BLS for every RN is required (ACLS may be needed depending on unit).
• BSN highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for patient care from Admission to Discharge.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment.
• Develops and coordinates plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises and evaluates nursing care.
• Delegates appropriately to team members.
• Documents patient care per procedure.
• Develops and documents Education Plan for patient/family.
• Collaborates with health care providers to ensure quality of care.
• Administers medications and therapies; operates equipment.
• Assists physicians with treatments and tests.
• Participates in Nursing Governance and professional growth.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
