Job summary

Summa Health in Akron, OH is seeking a Patient Access Liaison II for Emergency/Labor and Delivery. The role supports patient registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling within a fast-paced clinical environment.

You will interview patients to determine eligibility, assist with registration documents, collect co-pays and deductibles, and provide excellent customer service while guiding families through the care process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in customer service or general office support preferred.
• Experience in Registration, Insurance Verification/Pre-Certification, Financial counseling, Patient Accounts a plus.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced and complex clinical environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to collect account information in a fast-paced clinical setting.
• Explain and complete registration, insurance, and benefits processes.
• Generate patient estimates and collect co-pays, co-insurances, and deductibles.
• Provide high level of customer service and professional presence for Summa Health.
