Job summary

Summa Health System is seeking a Supervisor, Patient Access Services in Barberton. This full-time daytime role oversees staff across two campuses and ensures smooth patient registration and financial interactions under the Manager, Patient Access Services.

The position requires an Associate Degree (or equivalent) and at least two years in healthcare registration or related leadership, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Business, Finance, Education or closely related field, or the equivalent in training and experience.
• Two (2) years experience in healthcare registration, hospital/physician billing, and Patient Accounting or Customer Service field with leadership responsibilities.
• Demonstrates communication, leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well within a team environment by accepting and offering feedback, supporting goals, and encouraging teammates.
• Ability to be highly motivated, work independently, make decisions, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to effectively interact with diverse patient/customer populations to meet their needs with dignity.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision to staff on both the STH and WRH campus under the direction of the Manager, Patient Access Services.
• Interviews and recommends selection of new personnel.
• Directs, guides, evaluates, counsels, disciplines, and, if necessary, recommends dismissal of staff.
• Ensures that all patient interactions meet federal and state compliance requirements.
• Oversees two 24hour ERS and two registration locations.
• Serves as on-call manager for system wide Patient Access once a month.
