Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center in Pflugerville, TX seeks a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for the Emergency Department.

The CNC will influence patient care, coordinate shifts, and support hospital councils and nursing initiatives to advance clinical outcomes and the patient experience. In collaboration with the management team, the CNC directs nursing care, serves as a resource for staff, and models the organization’s vision, values, and mission.

Qualifications

• RN (Registered Nurse) license is required.
• Associate degree in nursing is required.
• Advanced Trauma Care for Nurse or Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure throughput and high quality patient care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of care quality in the unit with management.
• Collaborates with managers to create a teamwork environment for improved outcomes.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when needed.
• Operates nursing strategies including hourly rounds and staff engagement initiatives.
• Recommends and implements staff training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Assists with staff scheduling and labor management per patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
• Assists with inventory control and managing supplies and equipment.
