Job summary

Insurcomm Restoration | Fortify Companies in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Lead Mitigation Technician (Crew Chief Level) to direct emergency restoration projects for fire, water, mold, and storm damage. You will lead crews, set safety standards, and ensure efficient completion per IICRC guidelines.

You will work in a field-based, full-time role with a focus on hands-on leadership, communication with clients and adjusters, and frontline problem solving as part of a growing PE-backed organization.

Qualifications

• IICRC WRT certification or willingness to obtain immediately.
• Experience in restoration, mitigation, or construction.
• Ability to lead a crew and manage job site workflow.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Navigate Teams and document onsite using PSA, Encircle, Docusketch.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise mitigation crews on residential and commercial job sites.
• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess property damage.
• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation per IICRC standards.
• Develop drying plans and monitor progress to meet moisture goals.
• Remove damaged materials safely and efficiently.
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected spaces.
• Collaborate with Contents Division to pack and store salvageable items.
• Document progress with photos, readings, and notes using PSA.
• Communicate clearly with clients, adjusters, and internal teams.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site; manage tools and equipment.
• Train and mentor technicians to uphold safety standards.
