Job summary

Insurcomm Restoration, part of Fortify Companies, is seeking a Mitigation Technician in Denville, NJ. You will provide emergency restoration services for fire, water, mold, sewer, and storm damage, stabilizing properties and delivering professional, compassionate service during stressful situations.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain IICRC certification (or current holder).
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in varying environments.
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Customer service mindset and social awareness.
• Acceptable driving record and reliable attendance.
• Ability to navigate Teams and complete onsite documentation via smartphone.
• Team-oriented mindset with a positive, solution-focused attitude.
• Must safely wear PPE, including respirator, with or without accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess fire, water, mold, and weather-related damage.
• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation per IICRC standards.
• Remove and dispose of damaged materials safely.
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected spaces.
• Coordinate with Contents Division to clean, pack, and store salvageable items.
• Document job progress with photos and notes using PSA and other software.
• Communicate clearly with clients with empathy and respect.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.
• Set up, operate, clean, and store tools and equipment.
