Job summary

Insurcomm Restoration in Chantilly, VA, is seeking a Mitigation Technician to respond to fire, water, mold, and storm incidents, stabilizing properties and delivering compassionate service during stressful times.

You will perform water extraction, drying, debris removal, and decontamination per IICRC standards, while collaborating with the Contents Division and documenting progress with PSA and mobile tools. A strong customer-service mindset and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain IICRC certification within a reasonable timeframe.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools for restoration tasks.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in varied conditions.
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills with clients.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality in field assignments.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Comfort with MS Teams and onsite documentation via mobile devices.
• Team-oriented mindset and a positive problem-solving attitude.
• Comfortable wearing PPE, including respirator when required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess damage from fire, water, mold, and storms.
• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation per IICRC standards.
• Remove and dispose of damaged materials safely and efficiently.
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected spaces.
• Collaborate with Contents Division to handle salvageable items.
• Document progress with photos and notes using PSA and related software.
• Communicate clearly with clients with empathy and professionalism.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.
• Set up, operate, clean, and store tools and equipment properly.
• Follow warehouse and vehicle protocols, including consumables tracking.
• Work with project managers, crew chiefs, and team members to complete projects.
