Job summary

Insurcomm Restoration, part of Fortify Companies, is seeking a Mitigation Technician to provide emergency restoration services for fire, water, mold, and storm damage. You will stabilize properties, prevent further damage, and deliver professional, compassionate service during stressful situations.

This field-based, full-time position in Rockville, MD offers hands-on leadership opportunities, ongoing training, and a clear growth path within a PE-backed, expanding organization.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain IICRC certification.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-service mindset.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to use Microsoft Teams and document onsite with a smartphone and PSA/Encircle/Docusketch.
• Team-oriented with a positive, solution-focused attitude.
• Able to wear PPE including a respirator.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess property damage.
• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation per IICRC standards.
• Remove and dispose of damaged materials safely.
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize interiors.
• Coordinate with contents division to salvage items.
• Document progress with photos and notes in PSA/PSK tools.
• Communicate clearly with clients with empathy and respect.
• Maintain a clean, safe job site at all times.
• Operate, clean, and store tools and equipment.
• Follow warehouse and vehicle protocols and document consumables.
• Work with project managers and team members.
