Job summary

Insurcomm Restoration, part of Fortify Companies, seeks a Mitigation Technician to deliver emergency restoration services responding to fire, water, mold, and storm damage. You stabilize properties, prevent further damage, and provide professional, compassionate service during stressful situations.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain IICRC (Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification).
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in varying environments.
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong social awareness and customer service mindset.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to navigate Microsoft Teams and complete onsite documentation using a smartphone and industry software (Proven Jobs, Encircle, Docusketch).
• Team-oriented mindset with a positive, solution-focused attitude.
• Must be able to safely wear and work in required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess property damage caused by fire, water, mold, and weather-related events.
• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation services per IICRC standards.
• Remove and dispose of damaged building materials safely and efficiently.
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected interior spaces.
• Collaborate with the Contents Division to clean, pack, and store salvageable items.
• Document job progress through photos and notes using PSA and other required software.
• Communicate clearly with clients with empathy and respect.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.
• Set up, operate, clean, and store tools and equipment.
• Follow warehouse and vehicle protocols, including daily documentation of consumables and equipment use.
• Work with project managers, crew chiefs, and team members.
