Job summary

Ascension Health in Fishers, Indiana, is hiring a full-time EMS professional for the Ambulance Ground department. The role focuses on on-scene assessment, patient care, and safe transport to medical facilities.

You will determine care plans, use medical equipment, monitor patients, and coordinate with nursing staff. Required credentials include BLS and Indiana EMT; ALS/PALS are preferred. This position supports a faith-based, human-centered health system.

Qualifications

• Must hold BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• Driver's license required prior to hire.
• Indiana EMS EMT credentialed prior to hire.
• ALS preferred; ACLS/BLS accepted.
• PALS preferred; ACLS accepted.

Responsibilities

• Provide support, treatment, care and evaluation of patients on scene and during transport.
• Arrive to the scene, assess situation and develop action plan.
• Utilize medical equipment appropriately and assess injury severity.
• Monitor patient condition and document findings; communicate with RN.
• Assist with patient mobilization, ambulation and transport.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

Provide support treatment, care and evaluation of patients on scene and during transport.

• Arrive to the scene of an emergency, determines the situation, and develops a plan of action.
• Use appropriate medical equipment and comprehends the severity of the injury.
• Monitor patient condition and perform data collection. Communicate findings and patient condition to Registered Nurse (RN).
• Assist with the mobilization, ambulation and transport of patients.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience preferred.
