Job summary

Piedmont Eastside— Snellville, GA is seeking an Emergency Dept Flow Coordinator who is an experienced Registered Nurse to optimize patient throughput in a 11-bed freestanding ED. The role requires directing prioritization, coordinating with MDs, and managing admissions/transfers to ensure efficient ED operations.

The role emphasizes leadership, communication, and a strong grasp of stroke-related care, with ongoing responsibilities to monitor room status, staffing, and adherence to ED protocols.

Qualifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Registered Nurse with active state license.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to manage ED patient flow.

Responsibilities

• Direct all ED team members regarding prioritization and patient flow.
• Serve as a liaison with MDs and other providers for coordination and communication.
• Coordinate with Bed Control and Mission Control for patient placement and transfers.
• Monitor room availability, turnover, and tracking boards; ensure data current.
• Oversee ED pod operations and adherence to pod guidelines, including staffing and lunch assignments.
• Assist with triaging EMS patients and ensure timely disposition and throughput.
