Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a competent Nurse for the Emergency and other clinical settings. The role involves practicing independently, delivering routine and complex care per patient treatment plans, and coordinating with the care team to manage contingencies in clinical situations.

The nurse will consistently apply the nursing process, document care, and educate patients and families, while delegating appropriately to team members to ensure efficient patient flow and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of combined experience required in both the Emergency Department and one other specialty (e.g. Medsurg, Telemetry, IMC or Critical Care)
• 5 years of experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Educates learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.

Education

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred
