Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Lake Charles, LA seeks a competent registered nurse to provide routine and complex care in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will work independently, follow patient treatment plans, and delegate to team members to manage evolving situations.

The role requires an RN license in Louisiana (or compact, with BLS) and offers full-time hours on a 7PM–7AM schedule. A BSN is preferred and 2 years of MedSurg plus CC/ED experience are expected.

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

• Proactively provide assignment availability on a regular basis.
• Able to be assigned to more than one unit.
• Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources

Requirements

Education/Skills

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience

• 2 years of combined experience required in MedSurg and either Critical Care or Emergency Department required.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact required.
