Job summary

American Medical Response, Inc. is seeking a Dispatch Associate in Pleasant Hill / Concord, CA (Contra Costa County). This position can be full-time or part-time and reports to the Communications Supervisor.

Dispatchers coordinate emergency and non-emergency calls for EMS units via a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. The role requires monitoring unit locations, allocating resources, maintaining radio communications, and documenting response times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months of prior work experience with phone and customer service duties.
• Two years of progressive experience within a high-profile EMS or Fire Dispatch system preferred.
• CAD and data entry experience; typing speed of at least 35 wpm; certificate within past 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Receive and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls to field EMS units using CAD.
• Monitor unit location and movement; allocate resources to match demands.
• Dispatch and maintain radio communications with BLS and ALS units.
• Monitor and document response times; complete daily status reports.
