Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Protective Services Dispatcher to operate the St. Rita's Medical Center dispatch center. The role handles emergency and non-emergency calls, maintains radio contact with field units, and ensures timely dispatch of personnel according to procedure.

Excellent documentation and communication are essential. Responsibilities include monitoring alarms, coordinating information, and providing callers with available resources.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years experience in security and/or telephone operations/dispatch preferred.
• Ability to type 35–40 wpm and manage multiple lines efficiently.
• Proficiency with two-way radios and dispatch consoles; accurate data entry.

Responsibilities

• Receive, coordinate, and disseminate critical information for emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Maintain radio contact with field units and monitor response progress.
• Dispatch appropriate personnel and manage alarm systems per procedures.
• Document records of units dispatched and times of arrival; maintain logs.
• Assist in guiding callers to available resources and services.
• Answer and direct calls using a multi-line system with courteous communication.
