Job summary

Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH is seeking a PRN Protective Services Dispatcher for St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Under general supervision, you will operate the dispatch center, manage multi-channel radios, monitor CCTV and alarm systems, and provide courteous customer service to patients, staff, and visitors. You will coordinate emergency and non-emergency responses, document incidents, perform photo badging, and perform clerical duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of experience in security and/or telephone operations/dispatch preferred.
• Ability to type 35-40 wpm and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to operate multi-line telephone systems and dispatch consoles, including two-way radios.

Responsibilities

• Receive, coordinate, and disseminate critical information from calls; monitor units and advise field personnel.
• Prioritize and dispatch emergency personnel; monitor alarms and CCTV; follow procedures.
• Monitor emergency codes and alarms per hospital protocols; initiate alerts.
• Document logs and maintain records of units, locations, and times; liaise with outside agencies as needed.
• Process photo badges for employees and visitors; perform general clerical duties.
