Job summary

Mercy Health Lima Dispatch is seeking a Dispatcher to support ground and air critical services. Under the Director of Flight Operations, you will receive requests, determine the appropriate response, and dispatch the correct unit(s) to the emergency.

You will triage calls, coordinate hospital placements, track transport, maintain records, and ensure quality communication with medical staff and public safety. A high school diploma is required; an associate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred.
• Experience in Emergency Medical Systems or healthcare/public safety is preferred.
• Strong communication and critical-thinking skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Receives ground and/or air critical service requests via telephone and radio.
• Determines appropriate response and dispatches the appropriate unit(s).
• Triages calls, enters information into the dispatch system, and coordinates patient transport.
• Maintains records and documentation related to transport and billing paperwork.
• Maintains knowledge of EMS regulations and protocols; communicates with hospital staff and public safety personnel.
