Job summary

Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital is seeking a full-time Switchboard Telecom Operator for its Call Center in Presque Isle, Maine. The role oversees call processing, dispatching for emergent and non-emergent transports, and professional communications with patients and agencies.

Work is in a 40-hour, full-time schedule with a variable work timetable. The position requires strong customer service, teamwork, and knowledge of CAD systems; Maine EMT/EMD licensure preferred and MS Word/Excel skills

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED or international equivalent preferred.
Experience in ambulance / 911 dispatching or call center work preferred.
Current Maine licensure as an EMT or Emergency Medical Dispatcher preferred.
Basic computer skills including power on/off, mouse, keyboard, and proper shutdown.

Responsibilities

Call Processing and Dispatching: handle emergent and non-emergent transport requests accurately and timely.
Communications: maintain professional communications with staff, clients and agencies; provide timely shift turnover.
Systems Knowledge and Self-Improvement: use CAD systems, schedule, dispatch and track calls; maintain certifications.
Professionalism: punctuality, proper dress, and willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.
