Job summary

Department of Public Safety - Bureau of Emergency Communications in Bangor, ME is seeking an Emergency Communications Specialist. You will be the first point of contact for callers, coordinate responses, and document information in the CAD system.

You’ll operate radio and dispatch tools and support first responders with accurate data. Applicants must pass fingerprint background checks and a polygraph, work on a rotating schedule including nights and weekends, and complete required certifications

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate effective response to calls for service
• Develop incident resolution strategies
• Searching databases to find pertinent information for appropriate personnel
• Documenting calls in computer aided dispatch system
• Operating communications equipment, including CAD and radio systems
