Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a part-time role with a $7,500 sign-on bonus. The position offers a flexible schedule and full benefits, with responsibilities spanning direct patient care and clinical leadership.

Requirements include two years of ED experience, a current RN license in the state, BCLS, ACLS and PALS within six months of hire; ENPC and TNCC optional.

Qualifications

• 2 years ED experience required.
• Current RN license within the state of practice.
• Current BCLS Certification.
• ACLS Certified within six (6) months of hire.
• PALS within six (6) months of hire.
• ENPC and TNCC optional.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
