Job summary

Sierra Medical Center is part of Northern Nevada Health System, a regional multi-facility system, and is seeking a part-time Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join a 170-bed acute care hospital with 24/7 ER and a range of services. Responsibilities include direct patient care, clinical leadership, and collaboration with physicians and staff; candidates must have 2 years ED experience, an active RN license, and BCLS.

ACLS and PALS are required within 6 months; ENPC/TNCC optional.

Qualifications

• 2 years ED experience required.
• Current RN license within the state of practice.
• Current BCLS Certification.
• ACLS Certified within six (6) months of hire.
• PALS within six (6) months of hire.
• ENPC and TNCC optional.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
