Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to support the urgent care team in a fast-paced ED setting. The role involves assisting with EKGs, IV starts, venipunctures, splinting, CPR, patient transport, and documentation while ensuring a safe, efficient environment.

The position includes a 12-hour shift schedule, with three shifts per week, and requires completion of applicable CNA/MA/EMT/Paramedic training and CPR/BLS certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CNA program or Graduate of a medical assistant program accredited by ABHES/CAAHEP or regional/national accrediting organization.
• Graduate of an Emergency Medical Technician program or Graduate of a Paramedic program.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care as assigned per routine and standards.
• Documents care and maintains clean, stocked environment.
• Processes orders accurately and timely.
• Answers calls promptly and relays messages to staff.
• Directs visitors to patient rooms and maintains medical records.
• Transports patients to inpatient units and assists with supplies.
