Job summary

Mercy Hospital, a member of Catholic Health, is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to deliver direct patient care, support the ED team, and maintain a safe, compassionate environment. You will assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers, document in the EMR, and help with procedures and monitoring such as EKGs, glucose tests, and phlebotomy.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, one year as a Nurse's Aide or EMT, strong communication skills, and BLS

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year satisfactory experience as a Nurse's Aide in a hospital or EMT experience preferred.
• Good communication skills; speaks and writes clearly.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Delivers direct care to patients and creates a safe comfortable environment.
• Assist with selected procedures associated with admission, discharge and transfer of patients.
• Documentation in the Electronic Medical Record
• Assists with transfer of patient to a bed, wheelchair or stretcher utilizing patient care equipment safely as needed
• Performs and maintains competencies related to EKG's, glucose testing and phlebotomy
• Participates in customer service activities
