Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an ED Tech to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or healthcare professional. The role involves patient comfort, vital signs, and coordination with the care team in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities include documenting care, assisting with mobility, basic wound care, lab draws, and ECGs, while maintaining high-quality customer service to patients and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS preferred; EMR/EMT/STNA certifications may be required or pursued on hire.
• Experience in patient care settings is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care under RN guidance.
• Measure and document vital signs and patient data.
• Assist with mobility, hygiene, and comfort.
• Perform lab draws and ECGs as directed.
• Communicate changes to nurses and document care.
• Support patient safety and 1:1 safety companion duties when needed.
• Prepare reports and handoffs for shift change.
