Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an ED Tech Advanced to support the Emergency Department - West - ED Queen City. The role provides direct patient care under RN guidance, with responsibilities across vital signs, wound care, IV work and documentation.

Required 1 year of experience as an LPN, ED Tech, or Advanced EMT; AEMT training preferred. Competent in CPR and patient safety, with strong communication and teamwork skills in a high-stress environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Successful completion of an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) program preferred.
• 1 year of experience as an LPN, ED Tech, or Advanced EMT required.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care and tasks including comfort, vital signs, hygiene, mobility assistance, lab draws, ECGs and wound care.
• Performs ED Tech Advanced duties such as colostomy care, IV insertion/removal, and monitoring transport.
• Completes patient rounding and provides 1:1 patient safety companion services as needed.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse and reports changes to the RN.
• Delivers accurate documentation of patient care and participates in handoffs.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated and participates in ongoing process improvement.
