Job summary

UAB Medicine is expanding its Emergency Department (ED) at UAB Hospital in Alabama and is hiring additional nurses to support the expansion of a Level I trauma center. The role involves using the nursing process to promote health, prevent illness, and deliver comprehensive patient care in a high-volume ED setting.

We seek candidates with 3+ years of nursing experience and 2+ years in psychiatric/ED settings; a BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 years or more of nursing experience preferred.
• 2+ years of experience preferred in psychiatric nursing, psychiatric emergency nursing, or correctional nursing.
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to care and/or counsel individuals in health promotion and illness prevention.
• Guide data gathering, assessment, nursing judgment, intervention and evaluation of health problems.
• Delegate, coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care with the care team and physicians.
