Lifepoint Health operates Highpoint - Sumner Regional Medical Center, a 167-bed acute care hospital serving the Gallatin area. The Patient Access team plays a critical role in delivering a smooth patient experience through accurate registration and compassionate service.

The role supports a fast-paced Emergency Department environment, with opportunities for bedside registrations, direct admissions, and collaboration with nursing and clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional, and empathetic approach.
• Ability to navigate multiple applications, websites, and computer screens.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized while managing patients, calls, and priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and staff.
• Accurately collect and enter patient and insurance information.
• Ability to discuss estimates and collect patient payments at bedside.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately for Emergency Department visits and direct admissions.
• Enter demographic, insurance, billing, and other data into the registration system.
• Perform bedside registration when patients are receiving care.
• Welcome and check in patients at the ED with a professional, compassionate approach.
• Verify insurance eligibility and discuss financial responsibility with patients.
