LCMC Health is seeking a Patient Access Associate to be the calm in the chaos in the Emergency Department. You’ll be the first point of contact for patients and families, greeting with urgency, gathering demographics, and verifying insurance to keep care moving.

In a fast-paced, high-acuity setting, you’ll multitask with accuracy, support admissions and transfers, and collaborate with clinical teams to maintain patient flow—all while delivering compassionate service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Strong customer service and emotional intelligence required.
• Ability to stay organized and accurate in fast-paced ED settings.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and families with urgency and empathy.
• Register patients quickly and accurately during emergency visits.
• Verify insurance, demographics, and required documentation.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and care teams under pressure.
• Support admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
• Partner with clinical teams to maintain patient flow and efficiency.
