Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Patient Access Associate to be the first contact in the Emergency Department. You greet patients and families with urgency and empathy, verify demographics and insurance, and help collect required documents so care can begin without delay.

In a fast-paced, high-acuity setting you register patients quickly, coordinate with admitting and clinical teams, and support transfers and discharges.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Ability to stay calm in a fast-paced ED.
• Excellent communication and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and families with urgency and empathy.
• Register patients quickly and accurately during emergency visits.
• Verify insurance, demographics, and required documentation.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately in high-stress situations.
• Support admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
• Partner with clinical teams to maintain patient flow and efficiency.
