Job summary

Allegheny Health Network (AHN) seeks a front-line registration specialist to schedule, register, and admit patients, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance data. You will collect financial responsibilities and support timely billing within the ADT and EHR systems.

The role requires excellent communication, empathy, and the ability to work under pressure in a high-acuity setting. Evening, weekend, and holiday coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or 1–3 months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.
• One year of related experience, preferably in a medical, financial services, or demanding customer service environment.

Responsibilities

• Conducts scheduling, registration, and admitting functions at bedside and verifies insurance information.
• Identifies and collects patient financial responsibilities and processes billing data.
• Delivers positive patient experience and collaborates with healthcare professionals and external agencies.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and accurate registration in the EHR; supports after-hours coverage.
• Responds to inquiries from patients and staff calmly and professionally; adheres to policy and training.
• Other duties as assigned.
