Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth is seeking an Emergency Department Coordinator for a part-time schedule (32 hpw) with rotating weekends and holidays. Duties include maintaining ED medical records, entering charges, assisting with patient registration, coordinating ambulance/transport requests, and handling clerical tasks and discharge paperwork.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent, completion of a medical terminology course, and experience with Meditech;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of a medical terminology course.
• Demonstrated computer ability and basic data entry proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ED medical records, review for completeness, enter charges and discharge data.
• Unit receptionist duties: answer phones, greet visitors and assist staff.
• Transcribe and enter physician orders; manage chart assembly and filing.
• Coordinate ambulance/transport requests and support patient access activities.
• Process documentation accuracy and assist with registration as needed.
