Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth, Inc. seeks an ED technician to support the emergency department with patient care, transport, and procedural duties. The role is 24 hours per week, 7:00 am–3:30 pm, with every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Responsibilities include preparing the ED, performing clinical tasks (EKGs, wound care, labs), applying splints, and assisting physicians and ED nursing staff per directions. CPI and CPR certifications are required or in progress.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nurse Assistant License, EMT License or graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required or current enrollment in a nursing program with at least 1 year of clinical rotations completed; or a minimum of 2 years current experience as an ED Tech.
• CPR Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, stocks, and readies the emergency department for care for patients.
• Transports patients within the department and to in-hospital locations as needed.
• Performs clinical functions such as EKGs, suture set-up, wound cleansing, labs collection, and sterile technique as required.
• Assists in EDMD and Orthopedics by applying splints and immobilizers and sets up orthopedic clinic.
• Performs lab draws and carries out tasks as directed by physicians and ED staff.
