Job summary

Chenega Professional Services Strategic Business Unit is seeking a Dispatcher to act as the critical communications link during emergencies and routine operations. The role involves handling emergency and non-emergency calls, monitoring alarms, coordinating response with responders, and ensuring timely updates to personnel and agencies.

The position requires calm, sound judgment under pressure, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of dispatch, emergency communications, public safety, security, or related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Proficiency with computer systems, data entry, and communication equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in stressful or emergency situations.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
• APCO Certification
• Successfully pass background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls in accordance with established procedures.
• Monitor security and life safety systems, including alarms, radio communications, and CCTV systems.
• Coordinate and communicate with emergency responders, security personnel, and outside agencies during incidents and emergencies.
• Utilize emergency notification systems and communication platforms to disseminate emergency information when authorized.
• Maintain accurate and detailed incident documentation, including chronological records of events and dispatch activities.
• Complete daily dispatch logs, activity reports, and other required records.
• Monitor multiple communication channels simultaneously and respond appropriately to changing situations.
• Provide timely and professional customer service to callers, employees, and emergency responders.
• Support emergency preparedness and continuity operations during severe weather events, natural disasters, and other emergency situations.
• Other duties as assigned
