Job summary

AdventHealth in Kansas seeks a Part-time PBX switchboard/operator to manage high-volume calls and coordinate communications for the hospital. You will support staff, patients, and families by routing calls accurately and maintaining calm under pressure.

This role emphasizes fast, accurate documentation of events, adherence to HIPAA and hospital procedures, and reliable teamwork in a busy clinical environment. Prior experience in healthcare and customer service is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One year PBX switchboard/operator, call center – high call volume environment, clerical/administrative, hospitality, and/or customer service-focused experience.
• Experience in hospital/healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers and transfers incoming calls promptly and accurately.
• Responds quickly and accurately to all codes, alerts, drills, and testing. Documents all event details in a timely and accurate manner.
• Executes all communications efficiently and accurately.
• Stays current and knowledgeable in all applicable hospital, code, and departmental procedures.
• Assists with training new staff members on call processing procedures.
