Job summary

Regional 911 Intake Solutions seeks a dedicated Call Taker to handle incoming emergency calls and assigned nonemergency lines, verify locations and caller details, and determine urgency using approved questions.

You will enter data into dispatch software, forward information promptly, and assist callers with calming guidance while following scripted protocols; training and certification are required to perform duties, with potential shifts including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Experience in customer service or public safety helpful.
• Ability to follow structured procedures and stay composed.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming emergency calls and assigned nonemergency lines.
• Confirm incident location and caller callback information.
• Use approved questions to assess nature and urgency.
• Enter accurate details into dispatch software.
• Promptly forward incident information to dispatch.
• Assist distressed callers and provide essential instructions.
• Use language-access resources when needed.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions only within training.
