City of Lewiston is seeking a dedicated emergency communications dispatcher to answer 911 and non‑emergency calls, prioritize requests, and dispatch police, fire, EMS units as needed.

Responsibilities include data entry, record keeping, public information, and use of CAD/RMS and mapping tools. The role requires composure under pressure, strong communication, and adherence to state laws and department policies.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Age 18+.
• US citizen.
• Ability to Read/Speak English.
• Vision requirements including color discrimination and visual acuity.

Responsabilités

• Receive and respond to emergency and non‑emergency calls; dispatch units.
• Monitor unit status and ensure officer safety.
• Obtain information from callers and provide appropriate instructions.
• Greet the public at the front counter and relay information.
• Prepare and maintain police reports and related documentation.
• Operate CAD, RMS, mapping and other software; input and retrieve data.
