Job summary

City of Longview is seeking an entry-level Public Safety Dispatcher to answer and process 911 and non-emergency calls, provide pre-arrival instructions, and relay information to responders in real time.

Responsibilities include operating CAD and radio systems, screening calls, and assisting police, fire, and EMS units while maintaining documentation and following policies. Training certs will be provided within six months; Texas driver's license required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (entry level; no experience required).
• Required within six months: TCLEOSE Telecommunications Operator, NCIC/TCIC (Less Than Full Access), TTY, NOAA Skywarn Observer, EMD, CPR, and NIMS CIC certifications.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Answers and processes incoming 911 and non-emergency calls for assistance from the public.
• Dispatches Police, Fire, EMS, and/or non-emergency response personnel to call locations.
• Operates CAD system and maintains dispatch records and documentation.
• Monitors radio traffic and supports field units; relays information to responders.
