Public Safety Dispatch Network is seeking 911 Call Takers in Sheffield, MA to serve as the first point of contact for emergencies. The role involves handling emergency and nonemergency lines, verifying locations, and using standardized questions to gauge urgency. Training will cover call-taking procedures and pre-arrival instructions.

Employees may work rotating shifts as needed in a 24-hour operation. Candidates should be prepared for background checks and assessments per hiring agency

Qualifications

• High school diploma or recognized equivalent required.
• Strong listening comprehension and clear verbal communication essential.
• Experience in customer service or call centers helpful but not always required.

Responsabilités

• Answer incoming emergency calls and nonemergency lines.
• Confirm incident location and caller information.
• Use approved questions to determine nature and urgency of the situation.
• Enter details into call-processing or dispatch software accurately.
• Forward incident information to the appropriate dispatch function promptly.
• Guide distressed callers with essential instructions within training boundaries.
• Utilize language-access and accessibility resources as needed.
