Public Safety Dispatch Network seeks a 911 Call Taker in Bensalem to engage with callers, verify locations, and document critical data for responders. The role requires composure, accuracy, and adherence to established protocols in a high-stakes environment.

Responsibilities include handling emergency and nonemergency lines, following scripted questions, and inputting data into dispatch systems while coordinating with responders and maintaining caller privacy.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required; some dispatch experience helpful but not always necessary.
• Ability to listen carefully, type accurately, and follow structured procedures.
• Prior dispatch experience may be required by some agencies.

Responsabilidades

• Answer incoming emergency calls and assigned nonemergency lines.
• Confirm incident location and caller’s callback information.
• Use approved questions to identify the nature and urgency of the situation.
• Enter accurate details into call-processing or dispatch software.
• Forward incident information promptly to the appropriate dispatch function.
• Assist distressed callers with essential questions and instructions.
• Use language-access and accessibility resources when needed.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions only within training and certification.
