Job summary

Public Safety Dispatch Network in Eureka seeks dedicated 911 Call Takers to listen, verify, and document critical information for emergency responders. You will handle calls, confirm locations, collect callback details, and enter data into dispatch systems.

Candidates should have strong listening and typing skills, clear communication, and the ability to follow structured procedures; some vacancies may require prior public safety experience. Training and certifications will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is commonly required.
• Prior customer service or public safety experience is helpful but not always required.
• Must be able to follow structured procedures and multi-task in high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming emergency calls and assigned lines.
• Confirm incident location and caller’s callback information.
• Identify urgency using approved questions and document details accurately.
• Enter information into call-processing or dispatch software.
• Forward incident information promptly to the appropriate function.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions only within training and certification.
