Job summary

Raytheon seeks an Embedded Software Engineer II for the Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA. You will join a software team delivering real-time embedded applications for advanced radar, sensor, guidance, and fire-control systems.

You will design, code, test, and integrate software across the lifecycle, collaborating with cross‑functional teams and customers to ensure robust, secure, and efficient solutions for national defense programs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in STEM from an accredited institution, to be completed by start date.
• Experience developing, testing, or debugging software in C, C++, or similar OO language.
• Strong OOD and real-time embedded software development experience.
• Experience with Python/Shell/Perl scripting.
• Ability to troubleshoot and navigate complex systems and code bases.
• Experience in team-based software development with good collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and document real-time embedded software for RF/radar sensing systems.
• Contribute across all phases of the software lifecycle, including SW/HW integration.
• Assist in deriving system and software requirements and architectural modeling.
• Participate in peer reviews, code inspections, and technical decision-making.
• Support program execution to meet technical, schedule, cost, and quality baselines.
• Comply with established software development processes to maintain product integrity.
• Work Location: Onsite at El Segundo, CA Campus.
