Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Software Engineer II with embedded development experience for the Space and RF Sensors team in El Segundo, CA. The role requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance and is performed onsite in El Segundo.

The position emphasizes design, development, testing, and integration of software for aerospace applications, with collaboration across systems and hardware teams and involvement in code reviews and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of relevant software experience.
• Experience in programming languages such as C++, Java, Python or similar.
• Experience with software testing and debugging tools.
• Experience using version control tools like Git.
• Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance as and when required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring robust functionality and reliability.
• Analyze and translate system requirements into detailed software specifications and designs.
• Implement, test, and debug software solutions to meet project requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.
• Participate in code reviews, testing procedures, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance software quality and development practices.
• Document software designs, test results, and troubleshooting processes for future reference.
• Work onsite in El Segundo, CA.
