Job summary

Raytheon in El Segundo, CA seeks an Embedded Security Software Engineer I to join the Secure Product Assurance team. You will design, code, test real-time embedded software for radar, sensors, and fire-control systems, contributing across the software lifecycle on DoD‑grade programs.

U.S. citizenship and eligibility for security clearance are required. This is an onsite role at our CA campus with relocation eligibility and opportunities to work across a diverse set of advanced defense programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM disciplines from an accredited institution, obtained by start date.
• Experience with C/C++ and real-time embedded software development.
• Experience with Python, Perl or similar scripting languages.
• Experience in a team-based development environment with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex technical problems and provide innovative solutions.
• Engage in all phases of the SW development lifecycle including SW/HW integration.
• Assist in deriving system and software requirements and technical analysis.
• Design, code, unit test, and document real-time embedded software.
• Participate in software peer reviews and technical decision-making with teams.
• Support program execution to meet baselines for technical cost and schedule.
• Follow established software development processes to ensure integrity.
• Work onsite at El Segundo, CA campus; eligibility for security clearance.
