Job summary

Raytheon in Fullerton, CA invites an Embedded Software Engineer I to join the Sensors, Space and Air Software team. You will design, code, integrate, and test real-time embedded software for radar, sensor, guidance, and fire control systems, contributing across the software development lifecycle.

Ideal candidates will have a STEM degree and strong C/C++ skills, with hands-on troubleshooting and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited institution.
• Experience developing, and testing or debugging software using C, C++, or similar object-oriented programming language.
• Strong Object-Oriented Design knowledge and real time embedded software development experience.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.
• Experience developing software in a team-based development environment with strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex technical problems and collaborate to provide innovative solutions.
• Work at all phases of the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration.
• Assist in the derivation of system and software requirements, architectural modeling, and technical analysis.
• Design, code, unit test, integrate, and document real-time embedded software solutions for Radar Digital Product Line.
• Participate in software peer reviews, code inspections, and technical decision-making with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support program execution to meet technical, cost, schedule, and quality baselines.
• Follow established software development processes to maintain software product integrity.
• Work Location: Onsite at Fullerton, CA Campus
• Eligibility to obtain a security clearance: U.S. citizenship required.
