Job summary
Client Growth Resources, Inc. in Utah seeks a hands-on Embedded OS Engineer to own the Ubuntu-based Linux firmware stack for the MK2 drone platform (Qualcomm QRB5165). You will build the OS, harden security, and ship updates through automated CI/CD pipelines.
The role covers low-level OS internals, Yocto BitBake, systemd services, and headless embedded hardware with no display. You will maintain builds, recipes, and optimize for reliable deployments in embedded environments.
Qualifications
- Hands-on embedded OS experience with Linux
- Experience with Yocto/BitBake build system
- Familiarity with Ubuntu-based firmware images
- Ability to work on headless hardware with limited recovery options
- Experience with CI/CD for embedded devices
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the Yocto build system and image recipes
- Write and maintain .bb/.bbappend files and patches against BSP
- Debug BitBake task failures across do_fetch to do_image
- Tune build performance and manage sstate-cache across agents
- Configure ROOTFS_POSTPROCESS and hardening steps
- Maintain Jenkins pipelines for firmware image builds
- Configure systemd services, udev rules, and logging for headless devices
- Ensure security hardening and patch management for embedded OS
