Job summary

Magellan Health is seeking an MFLC Adult Counselor to provide non-medical, short-term counseling to service members and their families at military installations. The role includes brief counseling, planning, referrals, and ongoing linkage to resources, with data reporting and confidentiality maintained.

The candidate will deliver trainings and health/wellness presentations, collaborate with installation POCs, and respond to critical incidents as required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program in a relevant field (behavioral health).
• Valid unrestricted independent counseling license from a state/DC/territory to provide counseling independently.
• Less than 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
• Ability to engage with service members and families and travel as needed on military installations.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical, short-term, walk-around counseling to service members and families.
• Deliver training and health/wellness presentations and participate in health fairs.
• Enter counselor activity data daily and maintain client confidentiality.
• Develop relationships with installation POC and community resources to link services.
• Respond to critical incidents and on-demand events as directed by POC and program manager.
