Job summary

KLA Industries, Inc. is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer in North Syracuse, NY to join its engineering team.

You will design and implement embedded C firmware for microcontroller-based systems used in HVAC/R and industrial applications, collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and test engineers to move products from concept to production. The role focuses on hands-on firmware development, debugging, and qualification of software with hardware interfaces, and it offers relocation

Qualifications

Hands-on embedded C firmware for microcontroller-based systems required.
Strong understanding of microcontrollers, interrupts, timers, peripherals, and hardware interfaces.
Experience developing and debugging bare-metal embedded firmware.
Ability to troubleshoot interactions between firmware and electronic hardware.
Comfortable explaining previous embedded projects, technical challenges, and solutions.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware using C programming.
Develop firmware for 8-, 16-, and 32-bit microcontrollers.
Create control logic for sensors, switches, relays, motors, and other components.
Collaborate with hardware engineers on product development, integration, and troubleshooting.
Debug hardware and firmware using oscilloscopes, development tools, and lab equipment.
Participate in new product development, testing, and validation.
Troubleshoot existing products and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Document code, participate in design reviews, and support products through manufacturing.
