Job summary

IFS is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join our Aerospace & Defense business. You will embed with customers, build across the stack, and own deployment end-to-end—from design to production reliability—while leveraging AI-powered capabilities in real customer contexts.

The role emphasizes direct collaboration with airlines, MROs, OEMs and defense operators, delivering scalable software that improves fleet readiness and operations. Travel to customer sites is required.

Qualifications

• Full-stack breadth across backend, APIs, data and web fronts.
• Customer-facing delivery with on-site embedding in customer environments.
• End-to-end ownership including QA, CI/CD, cloud, DevOps and security.
• Senior-level autonomy with ownership under time pressure and strong architecture decisions.
• Strong communication and judgement to align technical decisions with business value.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Embed with Aerospace & Defense customers on their sites to learn operations and design software with them.
• Design, build and test full-stack features across services, data, integrations and interfaces.
• Connect IFS to ERP, CRM, IoT and legacy systems and own solution architecture in customer context.
• Build, run and maintain automated tests, CI/CD, deployment and observability across environments.
• Bring AI into development and integrate AI capabilities into products for customer environments.
• Feedback learnings from field to product roadmap to benefit all customers.
• Be the technical voice customers trust and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders.
