Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking an Account Executive Officer, Excess Casualty, to partner with agents and brokers in providing coverage for new and renewal business. This role requires independent risk assessment, decisive decision-making, and the ability to build strong internal and external relationships to drive profitability.

Qualifications

• Four years of underwriting, claim, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance experience.
• Deep knowledge of commercial lines products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify underwriting, marketing, or financial challenges and analyze information to make timely decisions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate with agents and brokers.
• CPCU designation (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and opportunities.
• Foster and maintain relationships with external partners by meeting agents/brokers to market Travelers products and write/retain accounts.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans and collaborate with MD on regional plans.
• May assist in training and mentoring of less experienced Account Executives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
