Job summary

Knowledge Services in Terre Haute, IN is seeking an Eligibility Specialist to assist the DFR in processing applications for Indiana residents requesting public assistance (TANF, SNAP, Medicaid).

You will verify information, collect documents, and determine eligibility using state systems, with a focus on accuracy and customer service. The position offers a 37.5-hour week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, paid time off and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in social services or public assistance settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gathers data for all relevant public assistance programs face-to-face or by phone.
• Verifies information for state policies and timelines.
• Obtains release forms and medical records when needed.
• Verifies income, assets and other documents.
• Uses automated systems to determine eligibility.
• Performs data entry into state databases.
• Responds promptly to inquiries by phone or email.
